Our proud heartbeat – under the ownership of Van Riebeeckstrand Primary School, managed by Mrs Beatri Fourie.

Learners from Gr 1 – Gr 7, parents, teachers and visitors make use of the tuckshop. Here learners are given the opportunity of making sensible choices in a relaxed, positive and controlled environment.

Gr 1’s – 3’s can shop to their hearts’ content at their own pace from a separate serving hatch.

Learners can apply their knowledge and decision-making skills in a practical manner in the following areas:

• mathematics
• managing pocket money
• entrepreneurship
• food choices with regards to meal times and snacks
• self-confidence
• sharing
• respect
• We provide nutritious, affordable meals.
• Alternative menus are compiled weekly.
• Meals are packed in take-away containers and can be pre-ordered at tuckshop@vrspmail.co.za.
• All meals are freshly prepared daily. Fazlin, Helen and Jessica, our three trained cooks, keep the pots boiling in our well-equipped kitchen.
• The menu is posted on Facebook every week.

Willing parents, who we value greatly, volunteer with tuckshop sales during breaks. The PTA gets involved at our big Sporting Events when 1000s of pancakes are needed!

Parents enjoy visiting the tuckshop in the afternoons, sitting under the umbrellas while their children do homework at the tuckshop benches.

Payments can be made electronically beforehand. Cash is also very welcome! We have also implemented the Zapper system to simplify the tuckshop transactions.

Tuckshop hours are as follows:
Monday to Thursday : 1^st and 2^nd break and after school until 15:00
Friday : 1^st and 2^nd break and after school until 13:30
Saturday : Sports Days
